Friends of Landmark Meeting Minutes
Date: May 12, 2008
Day/Time: 6:00 p.m.
Place: MS/HS Café
Minutes are as follows: five FOL officers, four parents, and four administrative staff attended for the meeting. Darla Bowen presided over the meeting. The order of the meeting is as follows:
Committee Reports
Treasurer’s Report – Was presented by Dru Runnals.
Spring Book Fair – Darla Bowen reported that this event went great. Sales were up 12.67% from last year. We were able to give away $2502 in books to all our classrooms and libraries. Everyone who came to the family night had a great time on Memory Game Lane.
Carnival – This year the carnival is Saturday May 17, 2008 from 2 -5 p.m. Tickets are now on sale in the main foyer of the elementary building. We are in need of many more volunteers for this event. We will not be able to offer the maximum number of games available without workers to run them. The more games, the more prizes and fun! Please leave your name and phone number at the hospitality office if you can help.
Teacher Appreciation – Kristi Strickland did a wonderful job of coordinating the teacher luncheon for both buildings this year. Great job Kristi! We received many thank yous from the staff on how great the food was.
Old Business
Fundraiser vote results are as follows, majority vote determined we would look at offering the following fundraising activities next school year: A fall product sale, a fall bookfair, a spring bookfair, Dinner & Auction, and a Mom2mom/Bake sale/Vendor night.
Our next check from Box Tops will be over $800, bringing our total for the year to $2094. WOW! Great job to everyone for cutting those box tops and sending them in. A huge thank you to our coordinator Cheri Hillman, Thank You for all your hard work.
